The Port of Portland is seeking to recruit permanent and casual operations staff. The successful candidates will be part of a small, dynamic, 24/7 operations team committed to customer service and exposed to all facets of Port operations.
The successful applicants will ideally be capable of undertaking a diverse range of activities in Port operations which could include:
- Mooring operations
- General stevedoring duties
- General maintenance
Desirable Skills:
- Working as part of a team
- An understanding or willingness to undertake training in OH&S principles
- Basic computer and administration skills
Port of Portland maintains a safe workplace and employees are required to support POPL’s approach to safety and environmental management by adhering to relevant policies, procedures, and work practices. Applicants should be motivated and maintain an emphasis on safety at all times.
The successful candidates need to be able to work flexible hours (including shift work), be adaptable, able to work in a close team environment, have excellent communication skills and be competent in handling paperwork.
