Mark joined the Port of Portland team on 27 November 2023, following 7 years as Financial Controller for the Portland Aluminium Joint Venture Smelter. Prior to this he served as Commercial Manager for Newcrest Gold mining at the Telfer and Cadia Valley mines. In this role Mark managed finance, warehousing, contracts, FIFO village and the airport. Mark has also worked as a senior internal auditor for BHP Australia.

Mark has 30 years plus experience in mining, refining and manufacturing. Starting as an operator at the Pinjarra Alumina Refinery on shift, prior to moving into finance after qualifying as an Accountant. Mark is a mentor for the Heywood Standing Tall Program as well as being on the Board of Management at the Heywood & District Secondary College.

Mark has a Bachelor Degree in Finance and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).
