Port of Portland has announced the appointment of Andrew Hays to the position of Harbour Master/Marine Manager.

Mr Hays joins the Port of Portland team following 8 years’ experience in port operations, as a Deputy Harbour Master in three Australian ports.  Prior to these roles Mr Hays served in the Royal Australian Navy as a Seaman Officer predominantly in submarines.

Port of Portland CEO Greg Tremewen said ”We are delighted to have Andrew join us here in Portland. Andrew has exceptional experience and a wealth of knowledge. Andrew’s prior position was Deputy Harbour Master at Port of Melbourne, Australia’s largest port. We look forward to Andrew commencing with us on 10 August 2020.”

Mr Hays holds a Master of Business Administration (Harbour Master) from the University of Middlesex and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Newcastle.

Mr Hays said “My family have relocated to Portland and we are all looking forward to becoming part of the community and enjoying the Portland lifestyle. This is an exciting opportunity and I am looking forward to working with the team at Port of Portland.”
